POEM: Qualities That Make Some Muslimahs Special

In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

MashaAllah, sisters like her, who are they?
Muslims smart enough to know Allah and pray,
Brave enough to wear hijaab, love modesty,
Both leaders and learners when they need to be.
__________
They can balance between being strong and soft,
With wisdom, not feelings, they choose who to love.
They can speak for hours if you're worth talking to.
At times they're quiet. Always they're in Wudhoo.
__________
Their smiles are genuine, served as charity.
Their tears fall as proof of their sincerity,
When they talk to Allah about the Ummah
And supplicate to be near Him in Jannah.
__________
These are Muslims always ready to obey
Our God Allah, and they await Judgment Day.
Knowing that all acts return to their doers,
They avoid bullying and stubborn sinners.
__________
They are unique, not like the majority.
Those they repel carry lies, doubt or envy.
Sometimes they take lead in groups they don't fit in.
Other times they walk away to avoid sins.
__________
They are Muslimahs who strive for Allah's sake,
Doing good deeds and showing others God's Way.
Enemies who hate them only gain their wrongs.
Sunnah lovers, to be in Jannah they long.
__________
May Allah Almighty join us with His friends,
Who are guided and do good without pretense,
Whose name will be called among those who succeed
In Jannatul Firdaus - our sweet destiny. Ameen.

SONNET: Maintaining Family Relations

In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Alhamdulillah from my father's side
Are cousins and aunties I can talk to.
We may not see each other day and night,
But in my du'as their names I include.
______________________
Now from the side of my dearest mother -
The relatives I'm in touch with are few.
Some live far but to connect don't bother.
Maternal cousin friends - not even two.
______________________
Though we may be in different cities,
Whether you're on my mom's or father's side,
I'd still say salaam, with you be friendly,
And if necessary you I'd invite.
______________________

For Allah maintain your family ties,
Don't choose to be with shaytan and his pride.

Allah the Almighty knows best.

Note: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam taught us that God Allah is pleased with those believers who maintain family ties while He is displeased with those who cut off family relations, especially out of being too arrogant to forgive or admit one's faults. Allah will Insha-Allah question that woman who neglected her aging mother and father, that man who deleted his relatives' contacts wanting to have nothing to do with them, those youth who refused to help their cousins or siblings when they were able to, and those members of a family who on coming across each other's paths look away and don't even exchange a simple yet rewarding salaam. Maintain family ties even if you try to visit each other once a month, send a friendly message or call them asking how they are doing. Insha-Allah you will be rewarded for trying your best to obey Allah's Command in taking care of your relatives out of mercy for Allah's sake.

May Allah the Most Merciful accept all our good deeds, forgive all our wrongdoings, answer our du'as and reunite us with our Muslim loved ones in Jannatul Firdaus next to Him and His beloved Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu alaihi wa sallam. Allahumma Innaka 'Afuwwun Kareemun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'annaa. Ameen.

POEM: Your Wrongdoers Take From Your Bad Deeds

In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

When some girls roll their eyes, with stupidity,
Or talk badly about you, with jealousy,
As you remind them to do what's right and fair,
And you choose patience, your wrongdoings are theirs.
.:.
When clowns make jokes about you to wipe their frowns,
Or cowards bark insults when you're not around,
As you strive to do your best as a Muslim,
Your past evil deeds are awarded to them.
.:.
When you fall or flunk and crazed animals laugh,
Or some dweebs show disrespect as if they're tough,
When some keep distance because rumors were spread,
Take note 'Allah does not like those who oppress.'
.:.
It's Allah's Mercy that sometimes He allows
Bad folks to get their way till things flip around.
Allah's True Justice is shown on Judgment Day
When earth's bullies see their results with dismay.
.:.
For each time someone stole or mistreated you,
They acquire some of the sins you used to do,
So that you're cleansed and of Jannah more worthy,
Purified to meet Allah the Almighty.

POEM: The Art Of Dealing With Rumors And Gossip

In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

The art of dealing with rumors is easy.
When rumors are said about you with envy,
And some give you looks and others act funny,
And those you thought were friends begin to bully,
.:.
Take it easy, either walk away knowing
That such rumors are untrue; they're just lying -
These gossipers with their lies are time wasting.
Let them say what they think; your sins they're getting.
.:.
No need to hide yourself; a coward don't be.
Walk by them confidently; you're not guilty.
Petty insults should they bark, say smilingly:
"These lies prove you're jealous; you wish you were me."
.:.
Either that, or just ignore, don't waste your time,
Don't use your words on those who believe their lies.
They could be that stupid to not recognize
Their bad ethics prove they're insecure all right.
.:.
While the jealous spread rumors, to Allah speak,
Pray that they'll be taught lessons so they believe
You strive to be the best Muslim you can be,
Not for anyone but for Allah Only.

POEM: Special Du'a To Allah On Yawm 'Arafah

In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Dear Allah the Almighty, Most Wise and Kind,
On this special day, as we fast at this time,
As the Hajj pilgrims at ‘Arafat unite,
We supplicate and pray for Muslims worldwide.
.:.
Dear Allah, forgive all our sins which You know,
Pardon our wrongdoings, please excuse our flaws,
About what we go through, Only You know most,
To what is dear to You Allah bring us close.
.:.
Keep us away from what You Allah don’t like,
Please bless the gifts You gave us each day and night,
Make us among Your friends who enjoin what’s right,
O’ Allah guide us and remain on our side.
.:.
Those who have mistreated us You’ve seen them well,
With them O’ Allah wisely and justly deal,
Each one’s future Just You Allah hold and tell,
In Jannatul Firdaus allow us to dwell.
.:.
Forgive us for prayers not prayed perfectly,
For gossiping and lying misguidedly,
For thinking wrong thoughts about anybody,
For all sins done publicly or privately.
.:.
O’ Allah noble manners please teach us more,
Learning the Qur’an daily make us adore,
To Your Mercy and Light please open Your doors,
Make Jannah, near You Allah, our home for sure.
.:.
Reunite us with our loved ones near You please
In Jannah, and accept all of our good deeds.
O’ Allah make us of those You’ll love to meet,
And through us guide many, with mercy. Ameen.

POEM: My Niqab Story And The Benefits Of Wearing Niqaab

In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Quick story to share with you for Allah’s sake
Of how I started wearing niqaab with faith:
From birth to about ten years old, my young days,
That time when I too traveled to U.S.A.
I did not wear hijab at that early stage.
.:.
As a preteen, before age thirteen years old,
I embraced wearing hijab when outside home.
In sixth grade, I wore niqaab as school dress code,
At those Saudi public schools that are well-known,
Yet for a while I hid feelings that were wrong.

.:.
I wanted niqaab worn only in Saudi,
Was shy of wearing it in other countries,
Was conscious back then of many stares at me,
‘Till some Sheikhs answered my questions on T.V.
About niqaab – I’ve learned it’s mandatory.

.:.
Though young I was eager to learn more Islam,
So I researched more online to understand.
One proof of the obligation of niqaab:
Female pilgrims should not wear it during Hajj.
The niqaab also uplifts one’s faith/Imaan.

.:.
In my teenage years I wore niqaab when out,
Yet my confidence back then was not yet loud,
‘Till I saw her at this hotel’s restaurant,
A niqaabi in black, with good vibes about,
She inspired me – of her Islam she was proud.

.:.
In my twenties I learned to love niqaab more,
Whether in Saudi, Philippines, or abroad.
Of the niqaab’s importance I became sure,
Not caring what viewers think nor their vile slurs.
When people insult, your sins are theirs galore.

.:.
Niqaabis are loved not by their choice of clothes,
Appearance, riches, or beauty cheaply shown.
By our faith and personality we’re known.
To be with Allah, as His friends, is our goal.
May Jannatul Firdaus be our promised home. Ameen.
