POEM: The Most Noble To Allah The Almighty

In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Notes to self and reminders to share, for Allah's sake:
Your worth is not proven in having a pretty face,
Long nose, pouty lips, high cheekbones, not your height nor weight.
Your skin tone and country too don't differentiate.
All humans are Allah's servants regardless of race.

To Allah, janitors and CEOs are the same.
Whatever one's job is, each being is Allah's slave,
With strengths, limits and responsibilities to take.
To Allah the most noble are those with the right faith,
Who exceed others in morals, and do good always.

Being rich is nothing unless your wealth brings goodness,
Guides you to love charity and treat all with kindness.
If it makes you more helpful, your intellect is blessed.
If they keep you grateful while you don't forget the rest,
Allah's gifts to you can lead to spiritual success.

You're not better than such and such if you lack manners.
Never feel inferior to any unbeliever.
What measure one's value are faith and good character.
As Muslims, compete for Allah's Love and together.
To have Taqwa while trusting Allah is what matters.

Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is the All-Knowing and Most Acquainted with all things." [Qur'an 49:13]

May Allah Almighty make us among His righteous friends whom He will welcome in Jannatul Firdaus near Him and His beloved Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Ameen.

POEM: Reviving Some Sunnahs Of The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam

In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Some Sunnahs of the Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu alaihi wa sallam to revive:
Two Rak’ahs Sunnah upon entering the Masjid,
Showing respect to elders, being playful with kids,
Helping around the house, being loving to one’s wives,
Staying truthful and when joking never telling lies,

Fasting regularly every Monday and Thursday,
Brushing and cleansing one’s teeth before one starts to pray,
Exchanging salaams and handshakes when meeting others,
Starting most actions from the right and in odd number,
Meeting loved ones almost always with a cheerful face,

Praying often Tahajjud at night when most would sleep,
Not complaining about food he did not want to eat,
Brisk and dynamic was his usual way of walking,
Articulate, wise, eloquent, clear and well-spoken,
Courage and softness he could balance beautifully,

He took proper care of his inner and outward self,
In what is right whenever he could he’d strive to help,
At times to energize he would take afternoon naps,
Knew when to work ambitiously and when to relax,
In lots of Dhikr and Du’as he loved to indulge,

Da’wah was his mission – enjoin right and forbid wrong,
As a leader and teacher he was brave, smart and strong.
May Allah the Almighty accept all our good deeds,
Allow us in Jannah and Kawthar River. Ameen.
Stick to the Prophet’s Sunnah to join those who have won.

POEM: Good Teachers v.s. Bad Teaching Style

In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

From teachers I've observed at schools I've been to,
And surveys of students regarding their likes,
With God's Will I've gathered nine differences
Between good teachers and bad teachers unwise:

_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
One: Bad teachers teach with insincerity,
Full of lies, they mainly work for the money.
Good teachers teach sincerely for Allah's sake,
To help and share their knowledge out of mercy.
_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Two: Bad teachers are often late or absent,
Late to arrive in class, early to go home.
Good teachers are regularly on time, and
Don't mind completing their work in class alone.
_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Three: Bad teachers get angry when asked questions -
Lessons unclear - for them 'one word is enough'.
Good teachers are ready to answer and help,
They love making things easy that which is tough.
_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Four: Bad teachers lack good manners and kind words.
No words of encouragement - they hate to smile.
Good teachers are motherly, fatherly, nice -
Meetings with their students are fun and worthwhile.
_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Five: Bad teachers treat parents as enemies -
They hate them in class, like they have things to hide.
Good teachers see parents as friends or teammates,
And they welcome guests to their class anytime.
_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Six: Bad teachers are so good at backbiting -
They speak badly of both teachers and students.
Good Muslim teachers know that God is Watching,
Gossip shows one's ignorance - and imprudence.
_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Seven: Bad teachers take their class for granted -
They don't correct mistakes, and don't grade on time.
Good teachers are always honest in grading,
And are proud, not jealous, when a student shines.
_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Eight: Bad teachers refuse to lead or follow -
They're passive - or the school's rules they contradict.
Good teachers have initiative to do right -
Both leaders and followers, they're not too strict.
_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Nine: Bad teachers don't take control of their class.
With their class so noisy, not all students learn.
Good teachers are able to quiet a class
Of many students, through being kind and firm.
_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
While each teacher has his/her own teaching style,
What's important is that knowledge is received.
Countries can thrive when all are educated
And are willing to help meet each other's needs.
_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
The Prophet Muhammad* is the best teacher -
Many lessons and good morals he had taught.
Teachers, know that teaching is a trust from God.
Thus, do your best, as it's the most noble job.
_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
May Allah the Most Kind accept our good deeds,
And reward us for teaching all that we know.
Ameen. So teach for Allah's sake, keep learning,
Educate, inspire, love - the Way to God show.

POEM: O' Allah Forgive My Dear Parents. Ameen.

In the Name of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

O’ Allah, the Most Merciful, Most Loving,
Some good deeds my parents did back when living,
As a witness that my parents did their best,
Praying Jannatul Ferdaus is where they rest:

Dear Allah, I remember those nights back then
Seeing my parents pray Tahajjud often,
My Dad as my Mom’s Imam, I’d find them both
Praying together for success in both worlds.

My Mom, a great mom, did whatever she could
To fulfill our needs, she cleaned, sew clothes and cooked,
Woke us early for Fajr Salah on time,
Was always there to love, feed, hug and advise.

Before going to school I’d kiss her goodbye,
Writing her Islamic books as I’d arrive.
    Always busy researching about Islam,
She taught me lessons I had to understand.

My Dad, a wonderful dad, tried his best too
In caring for us, buying supplies for school.
Often he’d come home from work with lots of sweets,
Ensure we had blankets before he would sleep.

Many times he’d assist with school assignments.
Though closer to Mom, my Dad was still my friend.
I recall that time he sat right next to me
To prevent boys mixing, to teach modesty.

MashaAllah both were active in Da’wah,
Sharing Islamic talks and giving Zakah.
Saw how they’d donate boxes of food and clothes
To needy loved ones and refugees unknown.

Always concerned for oppressed Muslims worldwide,
    In Iraq, Kashmir, Chechnya, Palestine,
And all countries, they did whatever they could
Through du’as and teaching Islam as all should.

My parents too loved feeding stray cats and birds,
Strived to teach us good manners and keep us learned.
From Mom’s advice is not to be material,
To have good manners. From Dad: to stay faithful.

Before Mom died, I helped her pray her prayers,
Lifting her arms, saying ‘Allahu Akbar’.
On seeing Dad passed in ICU, told him
‘You’re a martyr, we’ll meet in Jannah again.’

No nights and days pass without sorrow greeting,
May my tears expiate all my sins. Ameen.
May Allah Almighty always grant Mercy
And unite me with my parents in Jannah. Ameen.
Allah the Almighty said, “And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful and kind to his parents.” [The Noble Qur'an 46:15]

May Allah the Most Merciful accept all our good deeds, forgive all our wrongdoings, answer our du'as and reunite us with our Muslim loved ones in the uppermost level of Heaven Jannatul Firdaus next to Him and His beloved Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu alaihi wa sallam. Allahumma Innaka 'Afuwwun Kareemun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'annaa. Ameen.

SONNET: What Past Friendships Can Teach Us

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

As I pass by old friends' profiles online -
Some secrets divulge and I realize:
Some friends move on as their paths change with time,
Others misguided by their loathsome pride.
    🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸
    "Friends" who quickly leave never meant to stay;
True friends stick by you though they're miles away.
Through some lost friendships Allah wants you safe -
From bad influence or sins that remain.
    🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸
As people change, ensure you do what's right,
Stay on the Straight Way towards Allah's Light.
With sinful friends don't be preoccupied,
With dignity walk away from their lies.
    🔸🔶🔸🔶🔸
To long-lost friends: Though not close here I'll be,
Willing to forgive and guide with mercy.

Guiding Your Friends To Be With Allah
     www.sunnahonline.com/library/contemporary-issues/111-bring-your-friends-closer-to-allah-12-tips-for-muslim-youth

To Stay Friends Or Walk Away From Certain People
    www.islamqa.info/en/106441

5 Reasons why some people may no longer
    connect with each other:
1] Misunderstanding on one or both sides which was not settled properly, due to arrogance or inability to understand each other's point of view.
2] Deliberate lack of interest or communication between the two parties, either because of too many differences or doubting that the other may not accept them as friends.
3] When one is right and the other wrong, when one has become religious and the other is still addicted to certain sins, when one is humble and the other arrogant - good usually cannot get along with what is bad.
4] Change of ways, goals and interests - when you can't find each other agreeing on the same thing it may be difficult to click and bond.
5] Forgetfulness - the person you try to reconnect with on facebook may have forgotten who you are but should you ever meet again Insha-Allah personally they may befriend you like they did before.

Why Allah is The Only True Friend whose Love and Friendship we can share:
Allah the Most Forgiving readily forgives you so long as you constantly return to Him. No matter where you are, what time it is and what mood you're in, Allah the All-Knowing is always there to listen to you and grant you solutions with wisdom. Unlike some people who get tired of too many requests, Allah loves you more as you cry to Him more, talk to Him more often and say your du'as.

    Allah the Almighty knows best.

May Allah the Most Merciful accept all our good deeds, forgive all our wrongdoings, answer our du'as and reunite us with our Muslim loved ones in Jannatul Firdaus next to Him and His beloved Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu alaihi wa sallam. Allahumma Innaka 'Afuwwun Kareemun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'annaa. Ameen.

SONNET: The Insecure V.S. The Confident

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

When this shopper bumps their cart into yours,
Or some salespeople are late to respond,
And they don't say sorry for seeming coarse,
Note - they're insecure or plain ignorant.
    .:.
They witness you're better so they act ‪‎rude,
    They're freaks of nature uneducated.
To be unkind is to be insecure.
Bad traits from the jealous are expected.
    .:.
The confident ones like to lift you up,
Enjoy seeing you smile, can give advice,
At anyone's mishaps would never laugh,
Are wisely nice and can apologize.
    .:.
Stay friendly, confident for Allah's sake,
Grateful that you're with those on the Right Way.

PICTURES: Simple Eid Gift Ideas || POEM: Ramadan Lessons

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

    Some Ideas For
    Simple Eid Packs Of Sweets
    Note: For Allah's sake
Avoid drawing animates/anime and realistic images of beings as figure making is not allowed in Islam. Only Allah is Al-Khaliq Who creates what He Wills.

POEM: What Really Matters (Ramadan Lessons)
    ===========================
In Ramadan if you could not read the whole Qur'an,
At least you've tried your best reciting once in a while.
If there was that time you missed Suhoor or woke up late,
At least you fasted and you prayed despite your desires.

If you could not attend a special Iftaar event,
At least you fasted while Allah's Angels pray for you.
If you wish to do charity but cannot do so,
You still earn reward for intentions sincere and true.

If you are a sister who has excuse not to fast,
At least you earn reward by giving the fasting food.
If you're in your period and can't pray the Eid prayers,
For attending the Eid khutbahs Allah will bless you.

If you wish to do Da'wah but may not have the means,
Maintain your good manners, doing Da'wah through actions.
If you long to help those needy Muslims but you can't,
With Allah's Will you can affect through supplications.

If in your area you can't find a true righteous friend,
Allah, His Angels, and friends in Heaven await you.
If you seldom get responses on a post/update,
Recall good deeds are for Allah Who Will reward you.

If when some don't take your advice when you enjoin right,
At least you did what you could and corrected the wrong.
If you're the only female in niqaab or hijaab,
At least you know Allah loves you and your faith stays strong.

If some people you know are aloof or won't forgive,
At least you're not the arrogant one who's led astray.
Please Only God Allah. Don't mind what His servants say.
What really matters: Allah loves you, you've tried your best,
And for your Islam Jannah is your eternal place.

Ameen.

POEM: Five Good Qualities To Have As A Muslim

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Five positive traits a Muslim ought to have,
Which are learned from His wonderful creations.
Through these creatures, with Allah's Mercy above,
We can derive some beneficial lessons.

Like the tiger, show courage for Allah's sake.
Be brave as you walk along Allah's Straight Way.
Rely on Allah, and use the means He gave
In obedience, while trusting Allah always.

Show wisdom as the owl does in reacting.
Know that all things from Allah has a set time.
Take that chance to do good, be understanding,
And of Islam seek knowledge to be more wise.

As the falcon, be observant and watchful.
Of the hypocrites' lies and scams be careful.
Be quick when speed is needed, stop if you must,
Slow down when you should, and know whom you can trust.

Just as the just lion - Royal and regal,
Show justice, and be fair for Allah the King.
Guide the lost, defend your friends, remain loyal,
Lead the Way to Allah and depend on Him.

Like the wolf, be independent, never lone,
Don't mind if you can't find a friend who is true.
Your goal: To be with Allah and Heaven's Home.
You are: Okay when alone, better in groups.

As a Muslim, you aim to please God Allah.
With your mercy and kindness, you share Islam,
While including Muslims in your good du'as,
So Paradise near Allah is where you land.

May Allah the Most Merciful forgive all our sins, accept all our good deeds, and reunite us with our Muslim loved ones in Jannatul Firdaus near Him and His noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Ameen.

SONNET: Nine Signs Of The Trustworthy. Who Should You Trust?

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

In a world where just a few we can trust,
While choosing one's friends, one must be cautious.
Nine traits of the trustworthy, if you must
Trust loved ones - first quality: Not jealous.

Away from envy. Happy for your joys.
Second: Keep their promises, always true.
Third: Return your favors, with a right choice.
Fourth: Loyal friends enjoy being with you.

Fifth: About others never talk badly.
Sixth: Lovers of learning, seeking wisdom.
Seventh: See your good, hope you're trustworthy.
Eighth: Wise and sincere, with good intentions.

    Ninth: Forgiving, thoughtful and self-aware.
Note: If none you can trust, Allah is there.

Allah Almighty is the Only One we can truly trust.

What does it mean to trust?
To be able to trust some people is to know that on them you can rely. With ease and confidence you can talk to them about anything anytime. You know they're there for you day and night. Their promises they keep and they respect your rights. They never make fun of you when you're wrong or ridicule you when you cry. They're happy for your achievements and glad when you're right. They understand your concerns and share your delights. In fact they always want you to do well in both worlds and do only what's right. Hence they can recognize any lies you try to hide, yet they're forgiving as they're aware that no one but God Allah is Perfect. And they want you to be with them in attaining only what is best. So they try to guide you to Allah's Way with reminders and advice for you and themselves, so in Heaven with Allah's Mercy together you can rest. Allah Almighty knows best.

May Allah the Most Merciful accept all our good deeds,
forgive all our sins and join us with our Muslim loved ones in Jannatul Firdaus near Him and His Prophets especially His noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Ameen.

Include us and all Muslims in your good du'as :)

POEM: Three Groups Of Muslimahs On Social Media | Which Team Do You Fit In?

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Three groups of Muslimahs I've noticed these days,
When it comes to social media and its likes:
The first consists of young ones who love the Net,
Posting pics and updates, almost day and night -

Spoiling their timelines with photos of self-love,
Flaunting their selfies often with their hair shown,
Competing with others who likewise show off,
Begging for users' likes to prove they're not lone -

Some of them sin through spreading lies and gossip,
Insults about someone - said indirectly,
Some neglect Salah, some forget their duties,
Some are ashamed to befriend their family.

They waste their time when what they do don't make sense -
In collecting sins while Allah watches them.
May Allah bless them with Islamic knowledge,
And guide them to what leads to Him and Heaven.
    Ameen.

The second group is of sisters who log on
To learn Islam and share God's Message with all.
Even when online they maintain good manners.
When prayer time comes, they answer Allah's Call.

Their updates are of meaningful messages,
Free of falsehood and that which would invite hate -
Useful tips and reminders they love to share,
They encourage good deeds, almost night and day.

Backbiting and hurting others they avoid.
With world news some of them would keep up to date,
Not to join in debates, but to supplicate
For all Muslims worldwide, every night and day.

The third team is of sisters whose numbers may
Be few - they're careful of what they say and do.
They're a mix of introverts and extroverts,
Who believe social media has no value.

They protect themselves from lies and showing off,
Boasting and interfering with others' lives.
A few of them may own some passive accounts,
For Allah just to maintain family ties.

Their time is mostly spent reading on Islam,
Fasting Sunnah fasts, or reading the Qur'an,
    Attending Islamic classes, assisting
Others in what is right whenever they can,

Praying more Sunnah and Nawafil prayers,
Thanking Allah for the guidance He gave them,
And for not taking part in people's drama -
They love Allah's Love, not His slaves' attention.

This is not a message to not go online -
This is but reminders to myself and you:
This is our purpose: to worship Allah and
Be with him in Heaven for being Muslims true.

Love what and whom Allah loves. Hate what He hates.
Take care of your acts both online and offline.
Stay quiet when silence is best - speak when right.
And know that Allah watches all - all the time.

    Wasalaam~

POEM: Five Ways To Respond To The Jealous

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Quick advice to the youth regarding haters -
First off, we're here to please none but God Allah.
Our main goal is to be welcome in Heaven,
In Paradise near Him and RasulAllah.

Five ways to respond to some who show you hate:
One: Talk back in a fair way, or to advise.
Their foolishness and flaws help them recognize.
Answer though only if they are worth your time.

Two: Understand them. Bullies are bullied too.
Their misery they try to put on others,
So much so the only way they fake a smile
Is through their sins and having people bothered.

Three: Laugh likewise despite your laugh is secret.
Walk away from their silliness while knowing -
That Allah and His Angels are there for you,
And all their wrongs the Angels are recording.

Four: Thank them, even if done so secretly.
They proved that you're above them while they're below.
Through them you were free of your sins they gathered.
Through them, your worth and their envy became known.

Five: To God Allah sincerely supplicate.
You may pray that those who wronged will be guided.
You too have the freewill to pray against them.
The oppressed du'as are by God's Will answered.

When a group laughs at you, when some ridicule,
When one backbites or won't return your Salaam,
Know Allah will surely judge them. Just move on.
Their ignorance and jealousy - understand.

    Wasalaam~

Include all Muslims in your good du'as :)

May Allah the Most Merciful forgive all our mistakes, accept all our good deeds, answer all our prayers and reunite us with our Muslim loved ones in Jannatul Firdaus near Him and His noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu alaihi wa sallam. Ameen.

POEM: InshaAllah We Look Forward To Meeting Our Parents In Heaven

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

INNA LILLAAHI WA INNA ILAIHI RAAJI'OON.
To Allah we belong and to Him we return.

Full orphans in our twenties by Allah’s Will -
Our dear Mom passed away on Yawm ‘Ashooraa,
After just a few months dear Dad followed her,
He died too as a Shahid in Dhul-Qi’daa.

Both were very studious as children and teens,
In their adult years they did their best as well.
As parents they did a remarkable job,
Were pretty strict but had fun stories to tell -

I thank our mother for the great meals she cooked,
I too thank our dad for the food he would buy,
I thank our mom for preparing us for school,
Our dad for the money he gave and car drives.

There are many things we’re grateful to them for -
Listing them would take a large amount of time.
Alhamdulillah, though they left earth too soon,
We have learned a lot from them before they died.

First, to share are some good deeds they used to do -
Not to brag – just to follow their noble ways:
    Regularly they sought Islamic knowledge,
Researched about Islam almost every day,

Each week, or when they had a chance, they’d attend
    Islamic gatherings/classes in Saudi -
    They’d learn about Islam, Arabic, Qur’an -
    Did Da’wah to various nationalities.

Traveling worldwide was Dad’s job benefit,
Our travels were but means to thank Allah more.
To prove that they were thankful, they taught Islam,
Gave charity, and treated well all neighbors.

They brought us up well to be better Muslims,
Who at an early age learned to pray on time,
To not make fun of others, and never steal,
To behave, and about Islam teach and write.

We could have lived a very material life -
With our Dad working at a big company,
    With opportunities to travel worldwide,
Go out shopping and dining each day and night -

But due to their love of Allah and mercy,
To move to the Philippines our parents chose,
To make use of the money which Allah gave
In sharing Islam and teaching what they know.

So they built a Masjid and Islamic school,
As a charity and Waqf for Allah’s sake -
Reliable Muslims may share the reward
Through volunteering or their will to donate.

It’s Amaana / a trust, purely for Allah,
A place where you can learn about true Islam -
We’ve no intentions to cause harm nor show off,
With mercy, we’re here to help you understand

That Islam means peaceful submission to God,
Allah the Great, the One Creator of all.
To be true Muslims is to worship Allah,
To have good manners and answer Allah’s Call.

Quick lessons from our beloved parents’ lives:
With Allah’s Will hard work can lead to success.
Also too much of something is never good,
Never be extreme, once in a while take rests.

Pray Tahajjud, as our Mom and Dad did too,
    Recite Surah Al-Kahaf every Friday,
Say your good du’as – though not all are answered,
One small good deed can save you on Judgment Day.

Some advice from our parents which I recall:
Have Faith and good manners wherever you are,
Be humble, be modest, don’t brag nor envy,
Learn to listen, care for loved ones near and far,

Share what you can share, and stick to each other,
Stick to the Qur’an and the Prophet’s Sunnah.
Wherever we are, Allah is always there,
Various routes but one destination: Jannah.

It’s Friday now, so Muslims say your du’as,
Pray for our parents too, please forgive their faults,
Forgive each other, and our debts if we have,
May Allah the Most Kind forgive all our wrongs.
    Ameen.

Since our parents are no longer on FB,
I’ve decided to stop checking this website
To inshaAllah fulfill our parents’ wish,
To memorize Qur’an or give it a try.

If a Muslim in her eighties could do it,
If so many managed to learn Allah’s Word,
InshaAllah if eager you can do it,
To learn the Qur’an you’re not too young nor old.

May Allah make our tears and good deeds speak for
Us on Judgment Day by His utmost Mercy,
May He reunite us in Firdaus/Heaven
And May we meet Him while He is with us pleased.
    Ameen.

    Wasalaam,
    Mariam M.

ISLAMIC NOTES: The Etiquettes Of Handshaking In Islam

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Three types of reactions when you encounter or come across someone you know outside, whether at a mall, park, city or country you both are traveling to:

    1. You spot each other, recognize each other then quickly look away or walk the other way, hoping your acquaintance did not see you or does not come up to you to start a conversation <- sign of a fake friend or "frenemy".

    2. You see each other, remember that bad experience between you two which you arrogantly refuse to forget or forgive, and yet flagrantly walk past each other without a word or smile <- sign of a genuine enemy. A true Muslim who is loved and guided by Allah would be the first to say salaam in this case or at least give some sadaqa/charity by smiling for Allah's sake.

    3. You identified each other and were really happy you both were at the same place, yet you simply exchanged smiles and friendly nods <- sign of friendship between shy people.

    4. You notice and recognize one another, are pleasantly surprised to find each other in the same area, say the salaams and exchange hugs, handshakes or sincere greetings especially to follow the Sunnah tradition of the noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam in having good/exemplary manners <- sign of true friendship, brotherhood or sisterhood in Islam.

It was narrated that Allah's Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alahi wa sallam said, "No two Muslims who meet each other and shake hands but Allah will inshaAllah forgive both their wrongdoings before they part."
    [Sunan Abu Dawud]

When a Muslim shakes hands with another Muslim after some time of not seeing each other, Allah will inshaAllah forgive them.
Note: males only shake hands with males, and females with females.
A female may shake hands with her mahram males such as her father, grandfather, husband, brothers and sons although it may be best if a Muslimah shook hands only with sisters in Islam. Allah the Almighty knows best.
