POEM: Some Views On Homosexuality & Same-Sex Attraction

In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Allah knows best. In my opinion, none is born gay.
With Adam for Eve, men were designed to like females.
Same-sex attraction takes place when one exaggerates
One's love for another despite their gender's the same,
Or it is caused by how one was improperly raised.

It could be gay men were exposed to girl stuff when young,
Played with dolls and make-up till they were into fashion,
Trying women's clothing for fun with all the freedom,
Watching girly films, befriending girls - none to stop them,
Or shaytan misleads them to like guys they find handsome.

Lesbians or bi-girls may have been brought up roughly,
Told often to 'man up' and quit crying like babies,
Played sports enjoyed by boys till they behaved more manly,
Or shaytan misleads them to like girls for their beauty,
Or crush on another female who's smart, brave and sweet.

Homosexuality is a sin just like stealing,
Adultery, usury, lying and backbiting.
Evil desire which some incline to, it's forbidden.
It's Jihad for those who strive against this attraction -
All Muslims will be rewarded for avoiding sins.

Our love for a Muslim is for Allah's sake only.
When loving other Muslims, we love moderately.
Avoid prolonged eye-contact and sharing the same sheet,
Don't stare at each other's 'awrah. Do dress modestly.
May Allah the Almighty guide us always. Ameen.

POEM: Wear The Right Hijab For Allah's Sake

In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

The Hijab for Allah’s sake is to cover,
Conceal one’s adornments that should be treasured.
A woman’s gems must be reserved for her spouse,
Not meant to tempt strangers, distract nor arouse.

Wear the Hijab to obey Allah the King,
To be distinguished from the disobedient,
As Muslimahs on the Right Way to be seen,
Known as followers of the true religion.

Muslimahs are free, not enslaved by fashion.
What clothes to wear is not a daily problem.
Be liked for who you are, not for your clothing.
Born to worship God, not serve His creation.

The best Hijab is the one which covers most,
Wear what conceals beauty, not attractive clothes.
The more self-respect a woman truly has,
The more she’ll try to properly cover up.

If you’re proud of something and you should flaunt it,
Show the fact you’re Muslim, chaste and obedient.
Recall how you’re here to please Allah Only,
Long for Allah’s Love through faith and modesty.

May Allah Almighty make us among His righteous friends whom He will welcome in Jannatul Firdaus near Him and His beloved Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Ameen.

POEM: O' Allah Forgive My Dear Parents. Ameen.

In the Name of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

O’ Allah, the Most Merciful, Most Loving,
Some good deeds my parents did back when living,
As a witness that my parents did their best,
Praying Jannatul Ferdaus is where they rest:

Dear Allah, I remember those nights back then
Seeing my parents pray Tahajjud often,
My Dad as my Mom’s Imam, I’d find them both
Praying together for success in both worlds.

My Mom, a great mom, did whatever she could
To fulfill our needs, she cleaned, sew clothes and cooked,
Woke us early for Fajr Salah on time,
Was always there to love, feed, hug and advise.

Before going to school I’d kiss her goodbye,
Writing her Islamic books as I’d arrive.
    Always busy researching about Islam,
She taught me lessons I had to understand.

My Dad, a wonderful dad, tried his best too
In caring for us, buying supplies for school.
Often he’d come home from work with lots of sweets,
Ensure we had blankets before he would sleep.

Many times he’d assist with school assignments.
Though closer to Mom, my Dad was still my friend.
I recall that time he sat right next to me
To prevent boys mixing, to teach modesty.

MashaAllah both were active in Da’wah,
Sharing Islamic talks and giving Zakah.
Saw how they’d donate boxes of food and clothes
To needy loved ones and refugees unknown.

Always concerned for oppressed Muslims worldwide,
    In Iraq, Kashmir, Chechnya, Palestine,
And all countries, they did whatever they could
Through du’as and teaching Islam as all should.

My parents too loved feeding stray cats and birds,
Strived to teach us good manners and keep us learned.
From Mom’s advice is not to be material,
To have good manners. From Dad: to stay faithful.

Before Mom died, I helped her pray her prayers,
Lifting her arms, saying ‘Allahu Akbar’.
On seeing Dad passed in ICU, told him
‘You’re a martyr, we’ll meet in Jannah again.’

No nights and days pass without sorrow greeting,
May my tears expiate all my sins. Ameen.
May Allah Almighty always grant Mercy
And unite me with my parents in Jannah. Ameen.
Allah the Almighty said, “And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful and kind to his parents.” [The Noble Qur'an 46:15]

POEM: Your Wrongdoers Take From Your Bad Deeds

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

When some girls roll their eyes, with stupidity,
Or talk badly about you, with jealousy,
As you remind them to do what's right and fair,
And you choose patience, your wrongdoings are theirs.
    .:.
When clowns make jokes about you to wipe their frowns,
Or cowards bark insults when you're not around,
As you strive to do your best as a Muslim,
Your past evil deeds are awarded to them.
    .:.
When you fall or flunk and crazed animals laugh,
Or some dweebs show disrespect as if they're tough,
When some keep distance because rumors were spread,
Take note 'Allah does not like those who oppress.'
    .:.
It's Allah's Mercy that sometimes He allows
Bad folks to get their way till things flip around.
Allah's True Justice is shown on Judgment Day
When earth's bullies see their results with dismay.
    .:.
For each time someone stole or mistreated you,
They acquire some of the sins you used to do,
So that you're cleansed and of Jannah more worthy,
Purified to meet Allah the Almighty.

SONNET: The Insecure V.S. The Confident

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

When this shopper bumps their cart into yours,
Or some salespeople are late to respond,
And they don't say sorry for seeming coarse,
Note - they're insecure or plain ignorant.
    .:.
They witness you're better so they act ‪‎rude,
    They're freaks of nature uneducated.
To be unkind is to be insecure.
Bad traits from the jealous are expected.
    .:.
The confident ones like to lift you up,
Enjoy seeing you smile, can give advice,
At anyone's mishaps would never laugh,
Are wisely nice and can apologize.
    .:.
Stay friendly, confident for Allah's sake,
Grateful that you're with those on the Right Way.

SONNET: It's Alright If Allah Is Your Only Friend

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Funny how the jealous lie that I'm lone,
So ignorant are they for lies they squeak,
Don't they know that 'with Allah none's alone.'?
Or is my attention that which they seek?

I'd rather be with God than with His foes,
Be Allah's friend than befriend those He hates,
Feel "lonely" than be with fools who don't know
Their lousiness and fakeness they display.

I'd rather spend time with Allah alone
Than waste a minute on the unworthy,
Who have no noble qualities to own
But sadly envy while being nosy.

Avoid those who'll get you into trouble.
Side with Allah and His allies truthful.

    Wasalaam~
    Mariam M. <3 Nomayri AbdulWahab

With genuine friends whom Allah loves: Gift them with your time, love, trust, tips and loyalty. Grant them your support. Share with them your joys which make you happy. Sincerely pray for them in your du'as regularly.

With fakes: Obvious avoidance or similar fakery.
With bullies and jealous folks who show enmity
1] Guide them through reminders or transform them positively by your good manners. 2] Show no interest. 3] Fair and reasonable superiority.

Every Muslim has a right to choose who to be close friends with and who to avoid. A lot can be known about you by the company you keep. While it's a good thing to be friendly in general, it's always important to reserve your trust, loyalty and secrets for those who are likewise loyal to Allah Almighty. Thus, select righteous friends who can help guide you to Allah's Way with them instead of being misguided by a bunch of sinners or hypocrites who lose when they don't want to befriend you and who only gain your sins each time they talk badly about you.

Note that even if a Muslim stays anonymous in this world or doesn't have the same millions of fans as some celebrities do, that Muslim, through his/her good deeds and sincerity, may be well-known in the Heavens and loved by God Allah as well as His Angels. May Allah the Most Merciful accept all our good deeds, forgive all our mistakes and join us with His friends whom He loves in Jannatul Firdaus near Him and His beloved Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Ameen.

SONNET: We Know What It Means To Be Loyal :)

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Four wives or three, or even two, he's blessed -
That man who knows well the Prophet's Sunnah,
Whose marriages were by Allah witnessed,
Whose love is vast for the sake of Allah.

Each wife's love is unique yet real and strong,
Each one loving, faithful and forgiving,
Longing to have Heaven where they belong,
    In Allah Almighty truly trusting.

"Allah is the One Whom I live to please,
Don't need fellow servants to validate,
Forget false remarks of those who envy,
Ignore shaytan and what his puppets say."

Each wife blessed with loyalty understands
Her special role, gifts, and her only man.

Among the best treasures a wife gives her husband besides her faith, Islamic knowledge and wisdom, is her loyalty
and loving him for Allah's sake unconditionally :)

L: Love truly, unconditionally for Allah's sake.
O: Overlook and forgive your lover's flaws and mistakes.
Y: You are each other's gifts, lessons, map and loving light.
A: Appreciate both speech and silence, trust day and night.
L: Leave fakes and liars, their loud jealousy recognize.

May Allah Almighty make us among His righteous friends whom He will welcome in Jannatul Firdaus near Him and His beloved Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Ameen.

    POEM: What If

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

    SubhanAllah wa Bihamdih SubhanAllah Al-'Atheem.
Many things that took place, or passed by, or those that could have been.
Only God Allah Almighty knows both the seen and unseen.
Allah knows what His servants go through. Allah is All-Knowing.

What if Dad (Allah Yarhamhu and dear Mom) was here today,
And he remarried, and that decision with Mom is okay?
If we had a stepmom, would our ties with her come with dismay,
Or would we be best friends so we'd go out and chat night and day?

Perhaps the love between my dearest parents was so special.
Allah decreed that Dad be wed to only one wife loyal.
May Allah the Most Merciful forgive them and grant mercy,
And May He join me with His friends He'll meet smilingly. Ameen.

What if my brothers had second wives or married up to four,
If their wives were my age and were close for same things we adored?
Perhaps Allah is saving me from unwanted daily speech,
While helping me understand all sorts of personalities.

What if I could write and speak in all languages fluently,
So not one friend would find it hard to communicate with me?
What if I married "Mr. Right" whose good traits were too many,
How much would my unconditional love and loyalty be?

Only God Allah knows the wisdom in every life story,
And Only He the Most Wise knows what is best for you and me.
Whether I update again or not after this blog entry,
It's best that most words are kept for oneself and Allah Only.

Some new lessons I'd like to share which I have learned recently:
Avoid sinners and those who show signs that they're untrustworthy.
In silence is inner peace, more talks with Allah Almighty,
And praying that Allah lets us meet in Heaven smilingly. (Ameen.)

May Allah Almighty make us among His righteous friends whom He will welcome in Jannatul Firdaus near Him and His beloved Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Ameen.

POEM: No Valentine's Day In Islam

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

The Islamic ruling on saint valentine's day:
    www.islamqa.info/en/73007

Just reminding loved ones to celebrate
The fact that V-Day is not in Islam.
In Islam there's no saint Valentine's Day -
There are only two Eids we understand.
    ~*~
So as Muslims there's no need to wear red,
Crimson or pink to value this vile day.
Wear other colors, white or black instead -
Let friends know that it's just another day.
    ~*~
Deeds are rewarded by their intentions,
So make all your actions for Allah's sake.
    V-Day is among shaytan's inventions.
Don't decorate your love just on this day.
    ~*~
Wives and husbands should prove their love always,
    Through staying loyal, being forgiving,
Supplicating for one's spouse night and day,
And protecting each other from all sins.
    ~*~
Those who are single can wait for that time
When Allah blesses them with the best spouse,
Whose companionship can strengthen and guide,
And teach true love - despite their whereabouts.
    ~*~
I recall that time when gifts were exchanged
At an English private school I went to.
    Some ignorantly celebrate V-Day.
Others I support in sharing the truth.
    ~*~
The truth: Islam is peace, some roses red,
Sunnah to smile, not all violets are blue.
If you can't stay single, fast or get wed.
Only Allah knows that our love is true.

May Allah the Most Merciful forgive all our sins, accept all our good deeds, answer all our du'as and reunite us with our Muslim loved ones in Jannatul Firdaus near Allah and His noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Ameen.

POEM: Three Types Of Strangers We Remember

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

There are three groups of strangers we meet in life,
Strangers whose actions we strangely remember -
From the memories we still recall of them
Are useful lessons and wisdom to gather:

The first of these groups consists of wrongdoers,
Whose wrongs may invite you to pray against them.
Their rude acts or remarks you know to this day,
With vile people like them you would not be friends.

From this team I recall one Southeast Asian
Immodest lady staring, with a grimace,
At my beloved Mom and I in niqaab,
Who both saw her scowl yet with grace walked away.

The second set of strangers is of sweet folks,
Whose names you don't know, but whose good acts you do -
Like that friendly flight attendant, salespersons,
Or that kind British bellboy who greeted you.

From this I recall that nice man on wheelchair,
Who gave my loved ones and I much of his food -
In Makkah, at some hotel - for him I pray
That Allah makes his wish for Heaven come true.

The third type of strangers are those we once knew,
Who used to be friends but chose another way.
Whether they lost contact or cannot forgive,
Most of their doings we recall to this day.

What we can learn from here is to watch our deeds,
And remember to deal with strangers fairly.
For Allah, maintain good manners, and your acts
Serve as lessons to some, not just memories.

May Allah the Most Merciful forgive all our sins,
accept all our good deeds, join us with our Muslim loved ones in Jannatul Firdaus near Him and His Prophets especially His noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Ameen.

SONNET: Nine Signs Of The Trustworthy. Who Should You Trust?

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

In a world where just a few we can trust,
While choosing one's friends, one must be cautious.
Nine traits of the trustworthy, if you must
Trust loved ones - first quality: Not jealous.

Away from envy. Happy for your joys.
Second: Keep their promises, always true.
Third: Return your favors, with a right choice.
Fourth: Loyal friends enjoy being with you.

Fifth: About others never talk badly.
Sixth: Lovers of learning, seeking wisdom.
Seventh: See your good, hope you're trustworthy.
Eighth: Wise and sincere, with good intentions.

    Ninth: Forgiving, thoughtful and self-aware.
Note: If none you can trust, Allah is there.

Allah Almighty is the Only One we can truly trust.

What does it mean to trust?
To be able to trust some people is to know that on them you can rely. With ease and confidence you can talk to them about anything anytime. You know they're there for you day and night. Their promises they keep and they respect your rights. They never make fun of you when you're wrong or ridicule you when you cry. They're happy for your achievements and glad when you're right. They understand your concerns and share your delights. In fact they always want you to do well in both worlds and do only what's right. Hence they can recognize any lies you try to hide, yet they're forgiving as they're aware that no one but God Allah is Perfect. And they want you to be with them in attaining only what is best. So they try to guide you to Allah's Way with reminders and advice for you and themselves, so in Heaven with Allah's Mercy together you can rest. Allah Almighty knows best.

May Allah the Most Merciful accept all our good deeds,
forgive all our sins and join us with our Muslim loved ones in Jannatul Firdaus near Him and His Prophets especially His noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Ameen.

    POEM: Du'a/Supplication On Yawm 'Arafa

    In The Name Of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

It's been two weeks since our dear Abu's passing,
Not even a year since dear Ome's death too -
I type these words while on this day we're fasting,
On Yawm 'Arafa - when all du'as come true:

May Allah have Mercy on both my parents,
Who took care of me and tried their very best -
Writers of Islamic books and lecturers,
Who shared Islam with others - faith of the blessed.
    [Ameen.]

May Allah the Most Forgiving forgive me,
Forgive all my sins which I have committed,
May Allah pardon all my mistakes and flaws,
And good acts I may have procrastinated.
    [Ameen.]

May Allah the Most Wise, like He has shown me
That Only He Allah is to be trusted,
Teach me His Wisdom behind all things even
Through some dreams, or people's lessons undoubted.
    [Ameen.]

May Allah the Most Loving accept all my
Good deeds and make my tears also intercede
On Judgment Day - and May I meet Allah while
Doing what He loves and He is with me pleased.
    [Ameen.]

May Allah the Most Just and the All-Knowing
Answer our du'as against those who oppressed,
Who stole from us, lied to us or laughed at us -
We have nothing to do with their lies and mess.
    [Ameen.]

May Allah the Most Merciful reunite
Me with my beloved parents in Heaven -
Along with all our Muslim loved ones and friends,
May Allah make Firdaus where we meet again.
    [Ameen.]

May Allah make our being Muslim the main
Reason for our being welcome in Jannah,
Even if we may lag in doing Da'wah
As long as we stick to the Prophet's Sunnah.
    [Ameen.]

    AstaghfurAllah Al-'Atheem everyday,
    AstaghfurAllah Al-'Atheem for all sins,
    AstaghfurAllah Al-'Atheem day and night,
Always think of Allah until you meet Him.

SubhanAllah as I remember the smiles
Of my dear mother and father when they died,
Knowing that they're with Allah, I smile likewise,
And pray that we'll meet again in Paradise.

Now I worry of my husband dear Noma,
The only man whom I can take as my spouse -
With some of what he does, how will his state be?
What words will be about him spreading around?

I love him for Allah's sake. Allah knows best.
On Yawm 'Arafa I pray for my spouse too,
For all Muslims whom I love just for Allah,
May our du'as by Allah's Mercy come true.

On Judgment Day all secrets will be revealed,
As for those few du'as that were unanswered
On that Day they may become your friends or shield.
Thus, say your du'as, for God's Rewards are real.

May Allah the Most Merciful forgive all our mistakes, accept all our good deeds, answer all our du'as and reunite us with our Muslim loved ones in Jannatul Firdaus near Him Allah and His noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Ameen. www.wisdom.edu.ph
