POEM: Sonnet "To Be Muslim Is To Learn From One's Mistakes"

In the Name of Allah
The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

As a teen, I believe I used to keep
More than ten journals on which I would write
News that made me rejoice, laugh, think or weep.
They were friends I could talk to day and night.

Then I got rid of them before we moved -
Turning twenty was a profound journey,
Which despised dramas and unwanted moods -
'Tis from Allah's Mercy He guided me.

No need to keep a diary because
All that you do are being recorded
By Allah's Angels, Allah knows your flaws,
And you sin when you rant on folks you dread.

To be Muslim is to learn from mistakes,
To love God and know that there's Judgment Day.
